Executive Director, Boys Director of Coaching
Jamie Smith has been a driving force in the promotion of soccer for over 20 years. Smith, known for his Leadership and innovative style of coaching, has 15 years of soccer club operating and Director of Coaching experience.
He went on to take his United State Soccer Federation coaching licenses and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Advanced National Coaching Diploma and Premier Coaching Diploma. In 1995, Smith spent time in Holland studying soccer at the Royal Dutch Soccer Federation (KNVB) – coaching school in Zeist. After passing all exams, Smith was honored as the youngest American to complete the NSCAA / KNVB International Coaching License.
He also holds the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. He has examined the technical, conceptual, leadership and administrative skills required for Directors of Coaching for youth soccer clubs. This is accomplished through a curriculum rich in application and theory focusing on organizational structure, methods of coaching, leadership theory, evaluation and development of coaches and players and fiscal, legal and moral responsibility.
In 2006, Smith was named the Pennsylvania West Coach of the Year – an award given to a person who has raised soccer to new heights through their long-term dedication to the game.
Under Smith’s charge, his teams have won 3 State Championships. In 2005, the United States Youth Soccer Regional Championships committee honored Smith’s team with the “Fair Play” Award. His teams have competed in England, Holland, Germany, Sweden and Denmark.
Since 2008, he has served as the head coach for the McDowell boys soccer program and is currently an Associate Staff Instructor / Coach for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) where he travels throughout the country conducting soccer coaching courses and clinics.
